Villa d’Este 2026: History, Design, and Collectibles Take Center Stage

One of the most exclusive international events dedicated to classic automobiles returns to the shores of Lake Como. The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, scheduled for May 15-17, 2026, will once again bring together a selection of the world’s rarest, most iconic, and most sought-after cars, in a unique setting where elegance, design, and history meet.Organized by BMW Group Classic together with the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, the competition has been a point of reference for collectors and enthusiasts for almost a century, combining tradition and innovation in a format that continues to evolve without losing its identity.

Eight classes to tell the story of a century of automobiles

The 2026 edition will feature approximately fifty cars, divided into eight thematic classes spanning different eras and stylistic languages. From the great coachbuilders of the 1920s and 1930s to contemporary supercars, each category will offer a unique interpretation of the automobile’s technical and aesthetic evolution.

Particular attention will be paid to endurance racing cars and the development of modern sports cars, two trends that continue to hold great fascination for collectors.

Villa Erba, the dynamic heart of the event

Alongside the main exhibition in the gardens of Villa d’Este, the program extends to Villa Erba, an increasingly important hub for public activities. Here, the special exhibition “Touring Car Legends” will be held, dedicated to 40 years of the BMW M3, showcasing the iconic E30 racing versions and their historic rivals.

There will be plenty of opportunities to meet drivers and motorsports stars, as well as themed rallies and dynamic parades that will help make the experience even more immersive.

Between culture, lifestyle and market

The Concorso is not just a static celebration of the automobile, but an event capable of uniting culture, lifestyle, and business. Alongside the competing cars, there will also be space for concept cars, previews, and collateral initiatives that look to the future of automotive design.

At the same time, the collectors’ market finds one of its most significant moments here: the auction organized on the occasion of the event will bring some of the season’s most important lots to the lake, confirming Villa d’Este as one of the main global hubs for classic cars.

The most coveted awards in the industry

The heart of the weekend remains the awards given to the participating cars. The “Trofeo BMW Group – Best of Show,” decided by the jury, and the “Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este,” voted for by the public, are among the world’s most prestigious prizes in the automotive collectibles sector.

Winning at Villa d’Este means entering a select elite, where the historical, aesthetic, and cultural value of the automobile reaches its maximum expression.
