During Le Mans Classic, the affiliation of the Club Pilotes 24H Le Mans with ASI was made official. The association brings together drivers who have competed in at least one edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Among them is Gérard Larrousse, two-time winner of the iconic race, who attended the ceremony where the parchment confirming the club’s entry into the “ASI world” was presented.
The event took place at the Le Mans circuit on Friday, July 4, when ASI President Alberto Scuro formalized the decision of the ASI Federal Council to welcome the request submitted by the association, chaired by Charlotte Vernay, with Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, also present.
Earlier in the spring, a group of members of the Club Pilotes 24H Le Mans had visited ASI’s headquarters in Turin to propose their candidacy as an affiliated body.
