The tenth edition will be held on September 19th and 20th at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Racetrack. Over 600 cars are expected, including more than 25 historic F1 cars. Riccardo Patrese and Gian Carlo Minardi will be among the speakers at the meetings with the public.
The history of Formula 1 will return to Imola through its cars and the testimonies of those who lived it. On September 19 and 20, 2026 , the Historic Minardi Day will reach its tenth edition with a program that combines on-track activities with exhibitions, book presentations, and meetings with drivers and industry professionals.
Over 600 cars are expected to compete at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodromo . The more than 25 historic Formula 1 cars will form the core of a wide-ranging participation, including preparatory formulas, prototypes, GTs, and road-going sports cars.
Minardi, a story worth telling on and off the track
The anniversary will offer an opportunity to retrace the event’s ten years. At the Checco Costa Museum , a photographic exhibition will reconstruct its history, while a display of uniforms will tell the story of the Minardi Team.
The link with the Faenza team will also pass through the cars: the M189 , the PS04B and the M283B of Formula 2 are expected , associated with the 1983 European season of Pierluigi Martini and Alessandro Nannini.
On Sunday, September 20, from 12:00 to 12:45 , Gian Carlo Minardi will meet with the press and the public. The meeting will focus on the present state of motorsport and future plans.
Forty years of single-seater evolution
Comparing the Formula 1 cars on display will allow us to observe how much the cars have changed over the decades. This time span will be marked by the 1971 Ferrari 312 B2 and Rubens Barrichello’s 2011 Williams FW33 .
Among the announced entries are the six-wheeled Tyrrell P34 , the Lotus 72 and the Shadow DN1 used by Graham Hill in 1973. For Ferrari, the route will continue through the 312 T5, the 126 C4, the 642 and 643 and the F92A.
There will also be space for teams with shorter tenures in the World Championship, represented by the Andrea Moda S921, Fondmetal GR01, and Monteverdi F1. Riccardo Patrese’s Arrows A1B will add a link between the single-seaters on display and the protagonists expected at the event.
Patrese will be the guest speaker at a panel discussion on Formula 1 past and present . The program will also include presentations by Umberto Zapelloni, Bruno Giacomelli, and Sergio Remondino, while the Ayrton Senna room will explore the Brazilian driver and his connection to Imola.
The other roads of motorsport
The story will be rounded out by the categories that have supported the drivers’ training. Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula 3000 will bring Brabham, March, Chevron, Dallara, Ralt, Reynard, and Lola chassis to Imola. Prototypes and GT will further expand participation, including with Scuderia Nuvolari Italia.
Among the closed-wheel cars, the 1958 Jaguar Knobbly and the E-Type Lightweight are announced. The Lancia Deltas will accompany a tribute to Riccardo Errani; Scuderia del Portello will instead present several seasons of Alfa Romeo activity, with models including the TZ, GTAm, 2000 GT Veloce, and Formula Boxer.
Contemporary sports cars will be represented by Pagani, Lamborghini, Dallara and Pambuffetti , together with the Mazda MX-5 and the participation of the Lotus Italia and Abarth clubs.
The tenth anniversary program will unfold between the circuit and the exhibition spaces: the cars will tell the story of their technical evolution, while the meetings will explore the people and teams who have contributed to the history of racing.
