The 2026 season of the Italian Historic Car Championship opens with a spectacular show at the Mugello circuit, the first test of a championship that promises to be competitive and of the highest level from the very beginning.
Francesco and Cosimo Turizio took center stage in Group 2, having enjoyed a perfect weekend that saw them secure the class victory at the end of a commanding race. Having already demonstrated excellent pace in qualifying, the father-son team managed every phase of the race with precision and consistency, leaving no room for their rivals.
Behind them, an extraordinary second place overall went to Alessio De Angelis and Max Lodi, who delivered a solid and intelligent performance. For De Angelis, it was a great comeback, built together with Lodi through a flawless race, error-free and with perfect management of the key moments.
The pit wall strategy was crucial, making the most of the safety car window to make the driver change at the ideal time. This decision allowed the crew to consolidate their position in the decisive stages of the race, maintaining a steady pace until the checkered flag.
A perfect car and an excellent team completed an extremely positive picture, confirming the value of the work done both on and off the track.
