1000 Miglia 2027: a century of automotive history, style, and passion

From May 24 to 29, 2027, the Freccia Rossa will celebrate its centenary with a six-day journey through Italy. A circular route that pays homage to the first edition in 1927, passing through cities of art, landscapes, and roads that have become legendary in motorsport.

One hundred years of engines, challenges, and excitement. The Mille Miglia is preparing to celebrate its most important anniversary with an edition that takes the spirit of “the most beautiful race in the world” back to its origins. A tribute to the legendary speed competition and to Italian automotive culture, capable of combining ingenuity, elegance, and passion.

From May 24 to 29, 2027 , the historic cars will cross the country along a route inspired by the first edition. The 1927 route has been redesigned to meet today’s needs, preserving the soul and direction of the feat envisioned a century ago by the “Four Musketeers.”

Two elements will characterize the centennial journey: the return to a counterclockwise direction , just like in 1927, and a circular route , a novelty compared to the two most recent re-enactments. Brescia will once again be the starting and finishing point of a story that intertwines sport, territory, and Made in Italy.

The 2027 1000 Miglia route: the six stages of the centenary

The fourth day will mark the beginning of the ascent northward. After passing through Assisi and a lunch stop in Perugia , the convoy will cross the Madonna della Cima , retracing a stretch of the 1927 route.

Like a century ago, the route will also pass through Bassano del Grappa and Vicenza . The arrival in Verona will conclude the penultimate day of the Centenary.

Saturday, May 29: From Verona to Brescia

The final stage will be a tribute to Brescia and its province , the area where the legend of the 1000 Miglia took shape.

From Basso Garda , the crews will cross the Valtenesi and Val Sabbia valleys before stopping for lunch in Lumezzane . The return of the race will coincide with a shared anniversary: the municipality will also celebrate its centenary in 2027.

After Valtrompia , the cars will touch Lake Iseo and cross Franciacorta , approaching the finish line in Brescia.

In the afternoon, a final time control in Piazza Vittoria will offer the public the opportunity to admire the cars in the heart of the city. Then, the return to Viale Venezia , where the final time control and the winners’ coronation will close the Centennial edition, recalling the conclusion of the 1927 race.

A journey through Italian automotive culture

The charm of this edition stems from the encounter between the cars and the places that have marked their history. The Apennine passes, the monumental squares, the villages, and the provincial roads will become part of a single story, to be experienced along the route and recognized in the details of each automobile.

For motorsports enthusiasts, the 2027 Mille Miglia will be an opportunity to rediscover a legacy of design, engineering, and memory. And to celebrate a passion that, a hundred years after its first start, continues to unite generations of enthusiasts.
